Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
Accepting (by email/message or deposit) confirms agreement to these Terms & Conditions.
Any changes after work begins will be priced and approved before continuing.
Standard payment schedule is 25 / 75 unless otherwise agreed in writing.
75% final payment — due on completion.
For larger or staged projects, a split schedule of 25 / 25 / 50 may apply:
25% deposit — before work begins.
25% progress payment — at the agreed halfway point.
50% final payment — on completion.
Each invoice is payable within 7 days of issue unless otherwise agreed in writing.
If a progress payment is not received by its due date, Colourwise Painting reserves the right to pause work until payment is made.
Late or missed payments may incur a 2.5% monthly fee (calculated daily) and any reasonable costs of collection, including debt-recovery service or legal fees.
Materials and completed work remain the property of Colourwise Painting until all payments have been received in full.
Colourwise Painting may postpone work due to unsafe conditions, illness, or severe weather.
Exterior work depends on weather. Rain, wind, or high humidity can affect safety and paint quality.
Weather delays will be rescheduled to the next suitable day.
No charge for unavoidable weather delays and no compensation for timing changes outside our control.
The client must provide safe, reasonable access during agreed hours.
Power and water should be available if needed.
Please remove fragile or valuable items from work areas.
While all care is taken, Colourwise Painting is not liable for damage to unprotected belongings left in work zones.
All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill using quality materials.
Covered by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
Includes a 12-month workmanship guarantee under normal wear conditions.
Excludes damage from impact, moisture, neglect, unauthorised repairs, or pre-existing surface issues (flaking, mould, water damage).
Any scope change (extra rooms, colour changes, extra prep) must be approved by the client.
Extra costs are added to the final invoice or billed separately.
Colourwise Painting complies with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
Clients must disclose hazards (asbestos, electrical issues, loose pets etc.) and ensure safe access.

Colourwise Painting holds public-liability insurance for accidents or damage directly caused by its work.
Liability is limited to the value of the quoted job.
Not responsible for consequential loss (e.g. business interruption, rental delays) arising from delays or site conditions.
If an issue arises, both parties agree to communicate in good faith first to seek resolution.
If payment remains outstanding after reasonable notice, Colourwise Painting may engage a professional debt-recovery service or pursue legal action to recover amounts owed, including associated fees.
For disputes under $30,000, matters may alternatively be referred to the Disputes Tribunal of New Zealand, whose decision is final.
Colourwise Painting may take before-and-after photos for records or marketing with the owners consent.
No identifying details will appear without written consent.
